CITY OF SUNRISE
e-Government Portal

Challenge
QUAXAR’s development of The City of Sunrise government portal is based on the need to streamline local government administrative interaction with their constituents, providing maximum accessibility to government services with minimum administrative burden for City employees.
   
Solution
QUAXAR built a site with an accessible, easy-to-use interface where users can make bookings for leisure facilities, download applications for city services, and apply for city jobs. The site offers a calendar of city events, an interactive map showing the location of city offices and services, and a search engine. QUAXAR also took legacy systems in use such as the Vermont Systems registration application and incorporated them into the new web enabled application.
   
Result
The site has won a number of awards, including a "Superior" award in the 2004 National Association of County Information Officers (NACIO) Awards of Excellence competition, and an APEX® 2004 Award of Excellence for New Web & Intranet Sites. APEX awards are based on excellence in graphic design, editorial content and success in achieving overall communications effectiveness and excellence.
