The objective of this project was to convert information accumulated from 1980 to 2000 into digital format, and to create a real-time application for input and consultation of daily information generated by the National Weather Service.
Solution
The first phase of the project involved the analysis, input and digitiztion of daily hourly data from the National Weather Service’s 80 observatories, collected from 1980 to 2000.
The second phase was the implementation of an input and monitoring application for daily information from the National Wether Service. The application obtains data from 2,400 monthly Excel spreadsheets, consolidates them and enters them into a database developed by QUAXAR.
The third phase is the input and distribution of data in real time, via the web. The data is entered and distributed through the web to different national weather centers, and also to various industrial sectors across the country.
