Trendsetters

Who REALLY marks a trend?

by Diana Báez | Quaxar´s Digital Strategist

Trend: Cultural trend refers to a measurable change in behaviour that develops among a population of individuals.

These changes demands someone to start the movement. Is the first person responsible for the tendencies of an entire population?
We think not. Let us explain why:

1. You need someone crazy enough to think new things as possible things.
2. You need someone who supports that crazy someone (trendsetter).
3. You need a crew who follows.

In order to understand this please go geek mode with your Back to the Future memory.
If you all remember, there was Doc Brown, Marty McFly and Biff.
Doc was the brains, Marty was the brave one and Biff was the bully.

1. Doc had the idea that somehow you could travel to the past or to the future in a DeLorean.
2. Marty sneaked every night from his bedroom to see Doc unrealistic experiments. He ends up traveling to 1955.
3. Took the completely first movie but in the second we spot Biff trying to steal what Marty had.

Recap, every movement needs a visionary crazy person and needs the brave someone who stands up because he believes in it, and then followers will flow.
We are not talking about value because every part of the movement has its own value. What we do think is that tendencies are not about the visionary but about the first courageous follower.

If you have a new idea and do not know how to make it flow in digital media the only think you are missing is your Marty McFly.
